Bleubird Sessions: getting outdoors and giving back

Bleubird Sessions: getting outdoors and giving back

We first launched Bleubird Sessions in July 2022, and since then, we’ve had to chance to bring together members of our community, work with incredible local activity providers, and support worthy causes.

Bleubird Sessions is a series of events run in collaboration with local independent activity providers to encourage our community to embrace the outdoors in new ways, with like-minded people, all whilst giving back to charities of our partners’ choice.

We have just launched our first Bleubird Session for summer 2023, a sunset surf session hosted by our friends at Troggs Surf School in Portrush. So, here’s a little more info on what Bleubird Sessions are all about… and why we do it.

How Bleubird Sessions work…

Sligo Surf Experience.

Partnering with local activity providers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdom, we run various one-off events that encourage our community to get out and embrace the great outdoors, from surf sessions to sunset yoga to coasteering and more.

We offer our community the chance to book onto one of these specialist sessions at a fraction of the usual price, with all proceeds going to a charity of our activity partner's choice.

Why do we run Bleubird Sessions?

As you know, Bleubird is inspired by nature and designed for adventure. The outdoors is at the heart of everything we do, and we know our community feels just as strongly about embracing nature as we do.

Sessions give our community the chance to experience something new which they may not have thought about getting involved in before, all whilst supporting charity.

Bleubird Sessions also gives us the chance to promote and celebrate some of the best local outdoor activity providers across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and the United Kingdom, who live and breathe the Bleubird lifestyle day in, day out.

Where does the money from ticket sales go?

Neither Bleubird nor our partnered activity providers make any money from the Sessions and 100% of proceeds from ticket sales go directly to a charity of our partner’s choice.*

Tickets are often priced at a much lower cost than the normal fee for taking part in these outdoor activities, and our partnered activity providers are kindly giving up their time to get involved

*There is a small processing fee charged by Eventbrite, the booking platform.

Previous Sessions…

We first launched Bleubird Sessions last summer by kicking things off with an epic Cave Snorkelling Session hosted by Freedive NI, Northern Ireland’s first and only freediving centre. Proceeds were donated to Sea Shepherd NI, an incredible charity that pushes the government to enforce laws protecting marine wildlife.

After that, we proudly worked with partners such as Sligo Surf Experience in Ireland, Celtic Quest Coasteering in Wales, and Active Adventures in Northern Ireland to give our community the chance to get outdoors, all in support of worthy causes such as the RNLI, Focus Ireland, and Welsh Marine Life Rescue.

What’s to come from Bleubird Sessions 2023?

We have plenty more exciting Sessions in the pipeline for the rest of the summer, so keep an eye on our socials and make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list to be among the first to know!
